Flight Crew Preparedness

With its heritage in training professional pilots, American Academy of Aeronautics examines how crews should respond in abnormal situations, e.g., instrument failure, engine failure, etc.

With the introduction of NextGen technologies into the National Airspace System, and particularly in the cockpit, the nature of failures changes. Crew response needs to change accordingly. When possible, guidelines for responding to abnormal situations need to be integrated to flight crew proficiency and crew resource management materials.
