American Academy of Aeronautics is involved in researching
several aspects of nanosatellite design.
Under a NASA SBIR Phase I contract, the Academy is researching a technique
for distance measurement between cooperating nanosatellites.
It does not depend on GPS or Earth observation.
Therefore, the technique could be used in Earth orbit or interplanetary flight.
The Academy provides fast measurement and calibration of photovoltaic systems
for external customers, and continues to refine its techniques.
The Academy is building on existing work in non-propulsive
techniques for attitude control.
